I have had this problem.
The central locking system checks that all of the doors are closed when it is activated.
So it has a loop of wires that goes through all the doors (when the doors are closed the loop is complete and the central locking stays locked)
What is happening is, some of the wires in the loop have snapped, his happens in the doors,
(if you look in the door when it is open, on the hinge side, you will see a black rubber tube that contains the wiring).
All of the door wiring will need to be checked and broken wires repaired - this should solve the problem.

The secret to fixing the central locking in a Peugeot 206 is by checking the keys. Check the keys to see if the infrared responders are functioning. These can only be programed using diagnostic equipment available on Peugeot repair shops.
If the central locking on your Peugeot 306 isn't working with the key, it could be due to a dead key fob battery, a malfunctioning key, or an issue with the car's central locking system. First, try replacing the battery in the key fob. If that doesn't work, check the central locking fuse and wiring for any damage. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to consult a professional for further diagnosis and repair.

The central locking fuse for the Peugeot 407 is typically located in the fuse box, which can be found under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. To identify the specific fuse for the central locking system, consult the owner's manual for the exact location and fuse number. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off before checking or replacing any fuses.
The central locking on your Peugeot 206 may unlock itself due to several reasons, such as a malfunctioning key fob, a faulty central locking module, or issues with the door sensors. Additionally, a low battery in the key fob can cause erratic behavior. It's also possible that the locking system is responding to a short circuit or wiring issue. If the problem persists, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
To reset the central locking on a Peugeot 206, start by closing all doors and ensuring the ignition is off. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position without starting the engine. Press and hold the central locking button on the driver's door for about 10 seconds, then release it. This should reset the system, and you can test the locking mechanism to ensure it functions correctly.
If the battery goes dead flat the door will still unlock manually with the key.

If the central locking on your Peugeot 406 is not functioning properly, it could be due to a faulty actuator, a problem with the central locking module, or a wiring issue. Start by checking the fuses related to the locking system, as a blown fuse can disrupt operation. If the fuses are intact, inspect the door locks and wiring for any visible damage. If the problem persists, consider consulting a professional mechanic for a more thorough diagnosis.
