How bad is the vibrating? If you simply feel the vibrations when handling the knob but it doesn;t shake other times, it's just the machinery inside the transmission resonating throughout the shift linkage. If the knob simply moves without you feeling it, then you could have suspension problems in which vibrations are resonating up to the shift knob. Also, your shift linkage may be slightly loose.

could you be more specific?
If a 1995 Nissan Sentra will not shift out of first, there could be a problem with the throttle valve cable. The transmission could also be damaged.

replace your pressure plate (diaphragm type), and the clutch. replace your pressure plate (diaphragm type), and the clutch.
Yes, you can put a 1999 Nissan Sentra in neutral without a key. Most automatic transmissions allow you to shift into neutral by manually moving the gear selector. However, if the vehicle has a steering wheel lock or an anti-theft system activated, you might encounter difficulties. Always ensure the car is on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged for safety.
if it is an automatic leave it in overdrive. the transmission knows when to change into the overdrive gear. if it is a manual listen to the motor. if you have in overdrive and it bogs down while accelerating then down shift to a lower gear.
