I use the 10w40 type. Good for environmental temperatures ranging from -20 up to 40°C.
possible fuel filter
If it's just on start up that's normal, it's condensation in the exhaust system (hot exhaust gas + cold exhaust system = condensation) It should stop once the car warms up, if not it could be a sign of head gasket problems, does the coolant level in the header tank keep dropping?
does your car offer to start but doesn't catch? if it does then you have lined up the top pulley marks the wrong way. check that you have the dowels on the inlet and outlet pulleys facing the right way one should be upwards the other downwards it should tell you in your haynes manual which one should be up and the other down
Could be the Idle, or some kind of adjustment with the air and fuel mixture.
You have not provided enough info, I recomend you have it checked by a knowlegable person.
To top up the gear oil on a 1999 Rover 214, locate the transmission filler plug, which is typically found on the side of the gearbox. Use a socket wrench to remove the plug and check the oil level; it should be just below the plug opening. To add oil, use a funnel and a suitable gear oil, filling until it reaches the correct level. Always ensure the vehicle is on a level surface when performing this maintenance.
Where do i top up my coolant on a rover 25
unhook the battery wait 10 seconds and hook it back up
Start with replacing the fuel filter, it may be plugged up. If the stalling persists, have the fuel pump psi tested.
Fill it up with gas
This is because the engine has not yet fully warmed up. The computer increases the idle speed to prevent stalling when the engine is cold. To correct this, wait for the engine to warm up, or shut it off.
