Ferrari make their cars aerodynamic for performance reasons. A car referred to as being 'aerodynamic' usually implies that is has a low drag coefficient. This means that, because of the shape of the car, it is able to pass through air with relatively low resistance. The less resistance the car encounters as it travels along a road, the less work the engine has to do at any given speed and the faster it will be able to go. Aerodynamism is not just about creating a low drag coefficient though - its all about manipulating airflow over, around and under the car whilst it is moving. What Ferrari do is generally come up with a design that will a) minimise drag, while b) produce downforce over the front and rear axles for increased stability through corners.
