this sounds alot like a turbo failure, although there could well be a leak in the pipes leading from the turbo to the intercooler, or from the intercooler to the inlet manifold.
also check the intercooler for leaks.
or it is the vacuum pipe that operates the waste gate on the turbo, or a seized waste gate.
blown turbo - worn turbo bearing causing oil to suck through and into exhaust manifold - results in no power and neat oil burning in the exhaust - major black smoke
have a mechanic check your turbo.most will tell u that a turbo blows black smoke but can aslso blow white smoke when turbo is malfunctioning
With enough money and will power, you can turbo any engine that produces exhaust.
its farting
yes.
Black smoke coming from the exhaust is a symptom of a bad turbo on a Caterpillar C 15. Another symptom is a loss of horsepower.
is the smoke black? if a turbo smokes, you need to replace the turbo. smoking turbos means a bearing or seal has failed ,allowing engine oil into turbo. turb runs very hot ,which is where the smoking comes from. if the smoke is white it means you have a coolant problem .usually a head gasket which is allowing coolant into exhaust. turbos run on recycled exhaust
If it is turbo diesel, then the turbo is blowen
this will happen on all diesel engines (if its going to make reasonable power) its basically soot/carbon from the exhaust and unburnt diesel. on some high power turbo diesel cars there is proper plumes of black smoke. you only need be worried if there is blue smoke while on boost as this means the turbo is shot. but black = good
Yes, can leak oil causing blue smoke
For steam to come out the exhaust you probably have a bad head gasket or a cracked head. If the turbo had an oil seal fail it would cause blue smoke to come out the exhaust.
300zx twin turbo lots of black smoke and running rough
