Although there could be many reasons for this, check the obvious first.
If the dash lights work and it won't turn over it oculd be that the starter is bad or that the ignition is not operating. If the dash lights aren't coming on then you need to tighten the leads on the battery.
You can pull the starter off yourself (not an easy job) and have it checked at an auto parts store. Not sure how to check the ignition.
If you have any buddies that know anything about cars I would have them look at this.
