Can a 13 year old babysit 5 children?

yes As long as you are 5 years older than that person then I don't see why not! And how many kids your watching. Probably not a kid under the age of 1. Of course you are as long as you are responsible enough the to look after the child then why not ANSWER: Well it depends how responsible the child is. They maybe to young, maybe when your 15. If you are going to baby sit under the age of 15 I recommend that there is a responsible adult that knows what there doing just to guide and help out with the beginner! :) Good luck and have fun!

My husband's daughter (age 13)lives with her mother, step father and their three young boys ages 5, 3 and 1. Her Mother is asking her to babysit, care for the little boys constantly (aka while she sleeps, before she gets home from working nights as a nurse, when she showers, when she is speaking with home repair guys, when they are having church meetings in their house etc. etc.

When she does not want to leave our house early during her visits to go home to watch the boys, her Mother tells her she is part of a family unit and is being selfish and makes her feel guilty. THey are also thinking of adding another child to their already full household. OUr concern is that the 13 yr old is becoming a built in babysitter. Please answer us with any helpful hints or the law here in CT. Thank you

The most I have baby sat was 5. But i think it does not really matter how much they can babysit? Im only 13 so what would i know.

There is no legal "thing" here, so it's completely up to you! However many you feel you can handle... my limit is 4 children.
