I think it can happen when you are 21 and you get a lawyer and relinquish any rights of inheritance (and some change the name). But for me it was sad. It can also happen that you find yourself rejected by the step-parent(s) after reaching adulthood. Even the rest of "the family" will have become distanced. This happens more frequently than one thinks. It does in no way imply that the individual that was previously adopted or reared by a different family was in any way disobedient. It just happens. The media seems to only bring to light the adoption stories with the fairytale endings.
No as a step parent you have no right to your partners child unless you adopt them.

No.
Lumberville, PA
pa ya means a child is in agreement with his father.
Regardless of whether or not your child graduates high school in PA, once he/she reaches the age of 18, child support is absolved.
Can a child in Pa. emansapate herself at the age of 17?
see link below
The child still needs food, shelter, etc.
The law that applies is the law of the governing state of Maryland even if child lives in another state. If Maryland law permits support for post secondary education, then it would be granted. Even if you change the venue to PA and record the child support order in PA, the law must still be enforced based on the original governing state. However, I would certainly not move your child support order to PA since PA law does not allow for any post secondary support unless it is in the orginial child support order or some other written agreement.
