Can a naturalized citizen lose their us citizenship if they get in trouble with the law?

In the US there's no legal difference between natural and naturalized citizens (with one exception: only "natural-born" citizens can be President).

Broadly, there are two things that will lose a US citizen their citizenship:

1. Deliberately renouncing it (and even then, you've got to work at it);

2. Committing (and being convicted of) treason.

Naturalized citizens can NOT lose their citizenship. No matter what they do. True, if what they do is bad enough, they may be punished. They may get life in prison. They may even be executed.

But they die as citizens, same as if they were born here. There is absolutely no difference in rights whatsoever, and this was guaranteed by the 14th amendment. All citizens "born or naturalized". There is literally no difference, and neither is better than the other. "or", not "and also the". Being "naturalized" was not an after thought, it was a co-equal method of having citizenship.

You can be here by accident (born) or by design (naturalized). It's all equal.

(Note: If a naturalized citizen ever gets grief for being naturalized, they should say what Ayn Rand once said: "I chose to come here and had to pass a test. What did you do, besides being born?")
