Believe it or not, sex is likely to be involved with that sort of age gap...especially at this age where sexuality is coming forward through hormones and society (for example, the media shows girls nude all the time..even in commercials for innocent things such as body wash or lotion). Everyone always tells teens to be wary, and that it is all hormonal and just a phase. Believe this. I never believed it, yet the older you grow, the more you realize it. I myself won't date anyone who is more than one and a half years year younger, or older than myself. It is not necessarily illegal for an adult to date a child, but any sexual act is illegal. It is considered child molestation if an adult has any sort of sexual relationship with a teenager. If the child is under the age of 13 (or 16, depending on state), it is considered statutory rape; a punishment more severe. Also realize, it is illegal for anybody who is not an adult, to have any type of sex. Sex in this case, being defined by a foreign object (say, fingers) entering the body of another person.
