Personal testimony: Yes, it is possible for a person to have full, loving relationships with more than one person at a time. However, deeply-ingrained sexual and cultural stereotypes in modern Western culture (and, perhaps, other reasons; I do not profess to know the exact why) make such relationships untenable and unstable for most people because a strong sense of possessiveness or jealousy may arise in one of the people that may not have been anticipated by that person when entering the polyamorous relationship. Some small proportion of people in modern Western society do seem to genuinely have little or no capacity for jealousy in relationships, and for such people full loving polyamorous relationships can be maintained with others who are similarly free of jealousy and possessiveness in relationships. I feel it important, in this personal testimonial, to give every caution on this, however, and remark that a person does not get to choose how they will emotionally react upon actually entering such a relationship and you should always exercise care and caution with your own emotional well-being on experimenting with one.
