Yes u can. I am still in love with my ex after 7 years and another child! I have never gotten over her and she knows but she has chosen to move on with her life. Sad thing is I left her! It was one of the biggest regrets of my life and I still see her regularly. I still get butterflies like when I first met her. It's a chapter in my life that I wish would have never closed
