Technically, being 18 you can live on your own. However, if your parents are responsible for your schooling and bills, they are not legally responsible if you have left their house. Your friend's parent should contact a legal agency or attorney to verify their legal position in this so they are not unknowingly drawn into a legal mess between you and your parents. Hopefully by now you have either worked things out with your parents and are back home, or have somehow settled matters with your parents. For example, it would be to your advantage to have your parents' blessing to stay at your friend's parents' house and for your parents to agree to pay for your healthcare, other insurance, clothing, etc.
But most young adults like you end up realizing you must get a part time job to take care of some of your bills. You must realize that "staying with" anyone does not give you any legal rights, not like if you are renting. So your friend's parents can put you out without any notice. Sit down with them and discuss how you will "pay" to stay there at a reduced amount. For example, list chores you will do and assign a monetary value to each. Put in writing the agreement, with a 30 day notice to "evict" you, and both you and the friend's parents sign it. That way you will be protected--somewhat--from being put out without notice.
Yet, you must begin planning life--now. This includes how you will finish HS, getting a job, and starting to manage your own bills. Without planning those three areas, you risk becoming adrift / lost and facing even more problems before you turn 19 years old. Taking charge of your life is a must. Without parents, it is truly now ALL on you. And what you do or don't do now will certainly affect your future. Make goals and be determined to meet your goals. No one will do it for you.
