He didn't take any friends, but 2 other astronauts travelled with him to the moon. Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon with Armstrong. Aldrin's job was to tell Armstrong his rate of descent, forward speed and fuel levels. This was necessary because Armstrong was too busy looking out of the window for a place to land to look at the instruments inside the spacecraft. The other man on the Apollo 11 crew was Michael Collins, who stayed in the Command Module while Armstrong and Aldrin landed. Collins was charged with getting the crew to the moon and back. He was also responsible for making observations and taking orbital photos of the moon to find suitable landing sites for future Apollo missions. Collins' most important task was to be ready to rescue Armstrong and Aldrin should the Lunar Module not reach lunar orbital altitude.
Every Apollo mission took a crew of 3 people. There was no room for tourists on any Apollo spaceflight.
the Moon!
the first step on the moon i hope its correct..............
To the moon they were Michael Collins and Edwin Buzz Aldrin.
name of Neil Armstrongs rocket used for moon landing
His feeling that is Neil Armstrongs was a amazing feeling of finally landing on the surface of the moon, but it was a bit scary as the two of them were all alone on the moon, and the future trip was uncertain.
Neil Armstrongs greatest accomplishment was to become the first man to walk on the moon, and to return safely back to earth.
From childhood he always wanted to be a pilot.
Neil Armstrong's partner on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon was Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Aldrin became the second man to set foot on the moon after Armstrong.
Neil Armstrong's spacecraft was called Apollo 11. He was the commander of the mission that successfully landed on the moon on July 20, 1969.
I assume you're referring to the lunar module "Eagle"
Neil Armstrong is best known as an astronaut, and the first man to walk on the moon. Before becoming an astronaut, he worked as a test pilot. Later on in life he became an aerospace engineer and a university professor.
Actually, the rocket that carried Neil Armstrong to the moon was the Saturn V rocket, part of NASA's Apollo program. The Apollo program aimed to land astronauts on the moon and bring them safely back to Earth. The Apollo 11 mission, commanded by Neil Armstrong, achieved this historic feat on July 20, 1969.
