I myself am a guy, same thing happened to me more than once.
I personally say it's best to be "yourself," so they know who "yourself" is. What I'm saying is, if you act really cool, they will think that your really cool, but if your really just any normal person, they might get mad because it's such a sudden difference. Guys don't really like changes here and there, they like when something changes once in a long time. If you change from really cool to normal, it's just not confortable, it's odd. And you can't keep up the act forever, so if he doesn't like you normally, that sucks. But yeah..
