Yes it seems to. I have light blue eyes and have found the darker the lens the better off I am. The yellow lenses are fairly good, but I think the gray or blue work better. You have to try on various colors to know what works for you.
yes they have to be a darker shade of color so the meconisms can block the rays

There probably is no definite best, it depends on what you like and the color of the water you fish. Personally, I go with amber polarized lenses and consider them mandatory equipment for fishing clear rivers, you're blind without them.
To darken sunglasses lenses, you can use tinted sunglass lenses that are darker in color or have a higher level of UV protection. Another option is to use polarized lenses, which reduce glare and make the lenses appear darker. It's best to purchase sunglasses that already have the desired level of darkness rather than try to alter existing lenses.
No, polarized lenses are colorless (unless ordered with tinting). However most eyeglass lenses (polarized or not) have an antireflective coating on them, which looks colored due to diffraction effects. This antireflective coating actually is also colorless but is very thin and diffraction causes some colors to interfere constructively (making them visible) and other colors to interfere destructively (making them vanish) giving the appearance of having color.
Contact lenses can be purchased at eye glass stores, it is best to have your eyes tested before purchasing, but not necessary. Additionally, many listings for colored contacts are on Ebay.
Polarizing filters are not necessarily color filters. A polarizing filter may also includea color dye, but that's not its purpose.-- All filters attenuate all light rays to some degree.-- A polarizing filter, in principle, attenuates all colors equally, by blocking any lightwhose 'E' field is not parallel to the polarizing direction of the filter, regardless ofwavelength.-- A color filter, in principle, blocks all colors except those in a narrow range of wavelengths. The only wavelength it doesn't block is the color you see coming out of it.
Presumably, you are referring to polarization. This has nothing to do with the color of light. Light of any color can be polarized, or non-polarized.
To see if your glasses are polarized, look through them and tilt them at different angles. If they get darker or change color, they’re likely polarized. You can also check for a label on the lenses that says polarized.
