The "repo" man does not have to inform you if he is at your residence to repossess your vehicle. Once the vehicle has been repossessed he must call it in to either the local police department or Sheriff department. This will prevent any false stolen car reports. Also, the "repo" man does not have the authority to go into your garage or involve the police in the act of repossessing your vehicle. So, if for some reason the "repo" man does get into contact with you and threatens you by saying that he has called the police, he is lying. Bottom line, just pay your bills and you won't have to worry about the "repo" man.
No, otherwise people would hide the vehicle, move it into a garage, etc.
Yes, it is true that repossession agents must verify VINs before taking a vehicle. They have to be certain that they have the correct vehicle.
The repo agency does one thing; repossess the vehicle. I don't know of any case where a lender could even draw from your pay. tThey hire a repo agency to get the vehicle, and they report your delinquency so your credit score suffers..The repo agency does one thing; repossess the vehicle. i know a vehicle that is wanted for repo and i know where it is located but will i get payed for telling them and around how and who do i call ? thanks i really appreciate it
call them a prick and run home fast !!!!!!!
This question is fundamentally flawed. The repossessor is not removing *your* vehicle from the garage - they're taking *their client's* vehicle - so the answer is YES.
The person repoing your vehicle should let your sheriff office know about the repo within 24hrs. When they come out to repo your car they should have the contract and a copy of the title. It's the law. You CAN tell them to leave and they should leave. They do NOT have to notify you that they are repoing your vehicle.
I don't know about you but i would just watch operation repo
Repo agents aren’t allowed to ”break the peace”. By simply confronting or sitting inside your vehicle, they will be unable to tow. This doesn’t mean law enforcement won’t be called in which case you may possibly have to turn over the car, usually depending on your states laws.
They can only repossess the vehicle which was on the loan agreement. Taking any other vehicle is theft.
