Life is not a zero-sum game. His love for you can be big or small, sincere or fake, while his predilection for drinking may be an addiction that he can't easily quit. If he really loved you, he would do anything in the world for you. If I could throw away alcohol for my wife, then he can. If he chooses not to, then he doesn't love you like he says he does. You don't need that in your life. Life is too short.
He's got a drink problem, that is likely to get worse if he doesn't quit, binge drinkers are unlikely to be able to control their drinking habits they are better off trying to quit altogether, as you care for him you should try talking to him about his problem, telling him you don't want to stay with someone that goes on uncontrollable drinking binges

If his drug use is having a negative impact on you, and he refuses to even attempt to change this behavior, I would say your best option would be to leave him. Even if he does decide to quit, if he is doing it just to please you, it is very likely that he will relapse.
