You cannot be selfish with your feelings while dealing with a friend that has such a medical condition. People only treat you the way you allow them to and if you allow him to do this then he will continue to do so. However, he may not mean to actually do that to you per say it may be part of his condition that triggers or makes his behaviour the way it is. If you find you cannot deal with this then you may have to do what is best for you and reconsider your friendship. You could also try and make him aware of the problem. He might not realise that he is doing it. You could try sitting down and talking with him. Give him time to come around and if he doesn't, it may be a good time to end the friendship.
