I think most guys like girls that are a little shorter than themselves ("I think" because I'm only one and obviously my opinion isn't everyone's), and most people do think it's strange if the girl is taller than the guy. There are also many guys who prefer girls taller than themselves or much shorter however. In the end however it's true that a guy who loves you won't care about your or his height.
