To get a marriage null and void in VA you have to prove Fraud. By that, I mean you have to prove that the person married you under false pretenses. eg if you are a man and you marry a transgender without knowing until afterwards OR if the female is pregnant and you marry because you are told you are the father and it turns out you're not...something like that. Or someone married you for a green card unknown to you. You then go to the county courhouse and ask for the papers to file. If the spouse agrees then you file for an uncontested divorce using fraud as your reason . When it goes through marriage will be void. If spouse does not cooperate then you have to get lawyer and proceed. Also if you are underage and marry without parent consent, marriage can be voided.

VA answer: Since VA has other means of establishing id no id does not automatically void the notarization. The exceptions should not be used regularly, VA want noitaries to see a government issued id. The notary who does notarize without id and did not use the exceptions which require id the witness be known to the notary would be in serious trouble
