Specific praise or constructive feedback is the most important. The timing of your comments should be as close to when you actually feel the need to communicate with your sitter. Letting things simmer can be bad both for you as well as for your sitter. As a work pattern such as punctuality for example may continue to erode until you feel that the caregiver can no longer work for you. However, communicating your expectations up front and at points when you feel those expectations are not being met, is very important to a positive relationship with your caregiver.
