I'm 69, so this is from memory. As a rather bookish teen, I was shocked the first time I ever heard boys talking about girls. The language was crude (e.g. did you get laid?), the girls tended to be viewed in awful terms as sex objects, or occasionally glorified in equally exaggerated positive language. The tone was hyped on testosterone, or hyper a certain kind of macho masculinity, often bragging.

It was very much locker room talk, which only slowly changed as college passed into 'real' life.
