I know that you're probably not going to believe me, but bringing a baby into this world because you want to keep a boyfriend around is one of the worst things you can do. Getting pregnant is not any sort of guarantee that anyone's going to stick around.

Even for 30-year-old people with stable jobs and an education, having a baby is extremely stressful for a relationship, but they do it because they see it as worth it in the end, and because they feel that their relationship is stable enough to go through the stress successfully. Anyone still in high school is probably not going to have those same benefits, and it's unfair not only to you, but also to the child.

While I can understand that you really want your boyfriend to stick around, part of growing up is having relationships, some of which will end. There's nothing wrong with that. There will always be more opportunities and more people to meet, but it's not always going to be easy along the way (trust me, I've been through it many times).

In the end, getting pregnant isn't the solution, and it's not a bargaining tool to try to convince someone to stay in a relationship with you. Once the baby's born, it's still a human being, and one that will be your responsibility for 18 years. Boyfriends may come and go, but getting pregnant and having a baby is a lifetime commitment.
