  • All the way up until the 60s it wasn't acceptable for a young woman to ask a guy out, but now it seems very appropriate. In ways I think it's a good thing because many men are too shy to ask a girl out. You didn't say how well you know this guy. If you have seen him around, try for the next two weeks to smile and say hello and if in luck stand and talk to him for a minute. Talk about things he's interested in such as (if he is in sports of some sort or into music). This way you are showing you are interested in him. Then, if one of your friends is having a party or meeting at a favorite hang-out approach him when he's alone (don't approach him when he's around his buddies) and say, "One of my friends is having a party; would you like to go with me?" Or, "A bunch of us are going to a Club and I'd like to ask you to come with me?" Don't feel bad about any rejection (he may very well say yes) and if he doesn't don't take it personally. All of us have been rejected, but every so often you get lucky.
