Both males and females should always strive to be the best they can be in relationships or in future relationships. None of us are perfect. When we first meet someone each of them have eyes for only each other and the world is their oyster. After dating for sometime the magic slowly begins to wear off (so slightly sometimes people are not aware of it) and although neither couple mean it, it's natural. This is when you have to kick into gear and be more attentive. * If you do things to upset your partner then try your hardest to better yourself in these areas. Example: Not being on time for a date, or phoning to say you are going to be late and why. * REALLY listening to what your mate is saying no matter what the subject. If it's a woman complaining she is hurt over someone it may sound frivolous to a man, but he should know it hurts her enough for her to discuss it with him. He could give her suggestions or just let her talk until she cools down. Don't be afraid to tell her if she's right or wrong (same goes for the women telling their partner.) * Take a break! Each of you should have friends and go out periodically with friends. Also hobbies, or simply going to a gym is a good idea. Being independent of each other is a high quality. Don't over do it though. * Be sure both of you keep in touch with family and friends and do something together every so often. * Learn to have fun together! It can be as simple as going for a romantic walk on a beach, through a park or, you could go out to your favorite spot and just have some good laughs. * Learn to be loyal, trustworthy and learn to compliment her/him every so often. * Learn to say 'I love you' because you just never know if that's the last time you will see that person. * If you are living together then never go to bed angry. Sit up and discuss your problems and take a little of each other's advice. * Volunteer! Volunteering gives something back to either people or animals and it's a great feeling to know you have helped someone without being paid for it. I could go on and on, but I think you get the message loud and clear. Simply put, every six months we should reflect on OURSELVES and see where we need some improvements.
