How do you deal with a mean mom?

if shes mean there is probably not anything you can do about it and ur gona have to deal with it. I had a mean mom too (But thankfully I am away from her now) Stay out of her way, avoid doing stuff that annoys her, be thoughtful and kind to her so that she has no excuse to be nasty to you. Just ignore her and try to tell her that whatever she does wont upset you.

Tell your mom she is being rude and it is hurting your feelings, then the rest of the day act like whatever she says and does matters nothing, so next time she want's to upset you you won't care.

Or you could phone your nan and granddad and if they are really nice theyll sort your mum out.

just confrount your mom and say that its not fair and that you should stop being mean and stuff... in my opinion there is nothing you can say.. but try hanging out a bit more... or go shopping and do chores so that she will appreciate you and praise you rather than being mean!! hope this helped!!

It really depends on your age, as if you are in your teens, you could just wait it out and put up with her until you get a liscense, a car, a job and a place of your own, but all of that comes with responsibility and bills. However, it might be you instead of her. If you are being stupid and immature, you could be causing her to be "mean". She could be stressed out and super busy, so help her out and she will be nicer to you and everyone else.

I called myself a mean mom. I was firmly aware of what boundaries I had regarding honesty, treatment of other people, the budget, and so on. If my kid came up with a good, logical argument for change I often went with it. We really talked about wants vs needs and how to manage them. I did make the kids do some things they didn't want to do. Like all parents, there were issues I wish I had had more perspective on and had given the kids some things. However, by and large I found that the more I stuck to my values the better off we all were. My sons, now in their twenties, have told me that they were able to do more money management, cooking and other things that their college friends had no idea how to do.

So respect your Mom, realize how hard it is to not give your kid what they want. Find a good argument for change, finish what you begin and see if you can't find a common ground to get to know her. It is hard for parents to let go, just as it is hard for kids to find their separate voice.

i doubt she is being mean. she is probably doing what she is doing for a reason. don't jump to conclusions. why is she doing it? if you know why, you'll know.

if you think she is being mean, talk to her. even though it seems like a bad idea, it probably is the best.

All relationships are better with communication, which goes both ways and includes listening. Follow up with your responsibilities at home and school and things should improve. If all else fails, do something nice for her.

As a child, it is easy to misinterperate parenting as meanness. Your parents don't keep you from interacting with negative influences or participating in dangerous and/or stupid activities because they are mean, they are only looking out for your best interests. When you are older, you will appreciate your mom's "meanness".
