How do you forget someone you love and move on?

If you truly love them... maybe you can't? If you don't love them anymore and you just want to get out of the relationship then you need to just get it over with.. If you don't want to love them anymore because they're not worth it or they're not good for you then you should just get it over with also, in person. And then drop ALL contact with them and don't talk at all for AT LEAST a year. But if you truly love them.. maybe it's not time to move on. it's just a thought. Good luck!

It's impossible to forget a loved one right away. It always takes time since you are trying to forget someone you cared and thought about dearly. Someone who was a big part of your life. The first step you need to take is to get yourself busy. Finish a project you never had time for such as knitting, painting, pottery, gardening. Or you can hang out with your friends. In general just keep yourself active. Second, don't hold back any tears. Crying is an important process in forgetting a loved one or letting go. It's a way to relieve stress and emotions pent up inside. Third, get rid of anything that reminds you of your loved one. Gifts, memory triggers, scents, pictures etc. Another thing you can do when forgetting a loved one is smiling for at least 15 minutes each day. Even when you are not happy, just smiling causes the muscles used when smiling to send triggers that tricks your brain into actually thinking you are happy therefore causing the brain to release "happy" chemicals into your body. Also, take good care of yourself! Don't let yourself pack on the pounds and go out of the door just wearing sweats and a top. Pamper yourself! Take a nice long bath, get a manicure, go exercising, get a haircut, etc. Exercising is a good way to pamper yourself and to make yourself happy! It gives you a sense of accomplishment and I believe it also releases "happy" chemicals into your body too.

You don't. If you love someone but they do not return your love then you have to move forward as painful as it is but you don't forget them if you really love them.
