Becoming emo or goth helps, but if not, just ask them out. If they say no, becoming emo or goth may help to change their mind. Just be a hottie. [new] You don't have to become emo or goth to get one as a boyfriend. Some emo people may be closed to others cliques, but, goth people are pretty open to all. You shouldn't have to change who you are to get a boy, anyways. To get to their heart, you should get to know them. They aprecciate when someone's kind and is a good friend. Give them a listening ear so they know they can always come to you when they're down. But, on the same token, try turning to them and letting your feelings out. Just, don't talk miles more than the guy. Also, don't judge them for who they are. Don't leave them because they tried cutting their wrists, etc. Maybe, start dropping little hints that you like them along the way. Be kind, and considerate. And, try not to come of too strong. If you think they like you, don't get discrouaged because they're not saying anything. Most tend to be shy, and some, though not all, have low self esteem. You shouldn't be looking for a certain type of person because you never know what they are like. The only way to get a certain type of boyfriend is to like what he likes and dress how he dresses. Though I wouldn't advice you to any of this because you should be happy for who you are. Hang around with the people who hang around that type of person and see what they are in to, though you will be living a lie for someone who may not even like you anyway, though I am sure they will do.
