However, most men are dogs and if they aren't in a serious relationship, (and sometimes even if they are) they will give you their number because they are hoping for what you don't want him to expect. The real question is do you want the phone number of someone that doesn't have the guts to ask you for yours. If you are thinking about his number, he already knows you're interested. Make HIM sweat for your number!

sorry to say its as simple as saying "hi, um, i actually think your ok and would like your number incase i want to get to know you better, are you ok with that? but i don't want to go fast and really do want to get to know you" if he gives you the number you then say "ok cool, ill call you sometime soon"

if he doesn't you say "ok cool, nice talking to you, bye"

you have to say what you want in order for anyone to know what you want, hes not going to be able to guess,

and he will have insecurites just the same as you, so he may not have the confidence to ask you or say what he wants just yet.

that's a great question, i think that you should just say if i give you my number would you call me? or you could always ask for their number, but don't feel bad if he dosent call or dosent want your number there are lots more fish in the sea. :D

Step one is to prepare the ground. If you ask for his number before he's ready to give it, what are you going to say on the phone? "Hello, you don't know me, but I think you're cute...?"

Work at the face-to-face stuff for long enough that you are both showing signs of being interested and then the phone number swapping will be more-or-less automatic. You'll probably need a reason - anything will do, its just a social politeness.

He is your boyfriend so there should be no problem getting his number. Why don't you say 'give me your number so I can text you at the weekend'. Say it nicely. Don't ask 'if it's okay'. Don't give him time to think about it. If you say it the first way you should get it without any problems.
