Don't tell her to dump him. She will definitely want to do the opposite of what you say. This might seem mad but talk as if you like him, fake loads of interest in him. Do her friends like him? Talk through them and try to get them to open her eyes. But we all remember....we don't really listen to other people so it is going to be a challenge of sorts. Yes. I, too would employ the help and opinion of her peers. I remember all the times in my younger days when I didn't listen to my mother and years later it was like "I thought I knew everything, but GOD I WAS SOOOO DUMB!!! Why didn't I just listen to my older, more experienced Mother. Does she have a brother that she's close to? Perhaps if she does, you could have him spend some time alone with this boy and give his opinion. This might influence her more hearing it from her peers, rather than a parent. Again, ask her friends (privately) what they think about the boy and have them talk to her, perhaps they will have more influence as they will be better able to relate to her on her level.
