To get a bad kid to behave, quite hard for most parents. But, i suggest to go to the park with them and give them the exercise they need during the day so that by the end of the day they are tremendously tired, by the end of the day watching a funny movie with them will make them fall asleep and all that stress will all be over. If that doesn't work try asking them what they want and if they tell you something like a Toy Story 3 Movie And A Woody Costume For Halloween Tell them that they can create a skit play) and if the skit is really well organized and really cute, and awesome then tell them that you will think about it and other than that. A very good answer for a kid. Growing kids need a regular opportunity to expend energy and tire themselves. It goes a long way to keeping them from getting bored and frustrated, a major cause of bad behavior.

Asking them is the place to start. Wait until they are not acting out and ask them without judging or a judgemental tone of voice. Then (this is the important part), listen to what they have to say without having to tell them your point of view. Do this often enough in a conversational manner and you may get to the bottom of what they're feeling inside. You can only affect their behavior when you know what's at the bottom of it, not by guessing. Showing a willingness to listen and showing you care how they feel will help a lot.

If you get a response like 'I hate my sister' or 'You never let me do anything' or my 'my teacher hates me', never, never tell them that they're wrong, no matter what they say. How they feel is how they feel. Show respect, don't' judge. Let them talk through it themselves with just a question here and there to keep the thought moving forward. Kids will be able to figure out a lot of things, including the benefits of good behavior, without lecturing them, with just little guidance. Especially if they can tell that you are really interested in how they feel and what they need and not just how frustrated you feel or how bad behavior reflects on you.
