How do you know someone loves you if he says he does but doesn't act like he does?

I've been in this situation. Just because, a man tells you he loves you doesn't exactly mean that he does. If he treats you like a queen. Then he does. If he treats you badly ( whether it be physical or verbally ) then he does not love you and you need to get rid of him. Although, if he does not treat you badly at all and says that he loves you. Then he might be saying that just because, you want to here it. If that is the case then give him time because, he might eventually fall in love with you.

If this someone is acting this way,and you are really suspicouse, find out where he/she spends his/her time and make sure it's the truth. If this makes things worse, pack your things and leave! If this changes nothing, have trust in him/her for a week or so, if things stay the same warn him,her about leaving, if this doesn't work,They are NOT the one for you! One thing is very important... DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS! things will get better soon.

You don't say how old your boyfriend is, so this is a generalized answer. If he'a young teenager the chances are that either he doesn't know how or is embarassed. If he's a young adult then the chances are that he doesn't want to appear too soft. If he's an adult or older man then the chances are pretty good that he's not really in love or that he's just hanging around until someone better comes along. Also, please bear in mind that some men just simply do not know how to show love. They were either not taught how to show affection or they come from broken homes and were not shown any affection by those around them. Just because he doesn't show it does not mean he doesn't love you.

Its best to actually talk to your spouse regarding this as sometimes when your get comfortable in your relationship the "romance" or things that use to happen tend to slow down unless you make a conscious effort to work at them and continue them.

Guys tend to be more emotional then physical sometimes so maybe saying the "love" word was a BIG step for him:)

Tale it easy. If you see no changes after that confession, he may be playing you like a deck of cards! Just becareful lol :)
