The answer is, find out why you are sad and deal with that first. You cannot conquer Happiness unless you are done with sad.

Usually Sad has a cause.

It may be something obvious, like something happened to you or someone you know.

It may be something a little more obscure, like it happened when you were three and you only have vague memories of it, but it scared you to death.

It may mean confronting someone and telling them how what they did made you feel. It may mean writing it down and burning it, as a symbol of letting it go.

Trauma, whatever the reason, can have lasting effects. There are people who can assist you in delving deeper into the why so you can move past it to the happy. Until you work through the sad, you can only touch happy fleetingly. Go ahead, conquer the sad. It may hurt a little, but you will feel better when its over and done with.
