That depends on the kinds of fashion. Often, the clothing that kids see other kids wearing will influence them in that they want some of it... either so they can fit in, or look cool. Fashion for adults might not affect them very much, but depending on their parents' focus on it, that might make them notice fashion as status or an indicator of class or title, and if they or their parents want a "better" class or title, then they will try to dress that way.
