50% of Americans (one in two couples) divorce and the divorce rate is climbing. The theory for the cause is that Americans are basically free in every aspect of their life so when it comes to marriage problems they tend to flee the marriage rather than work on it and try to save the marriage. Couples with children are less likely to get divorced than a couple than does not have children.

Before getting a divorce, couples should attend marriage counseling to work on their problems.
Children are almost Never the reason husbands and wives get divorced. They usually get divorced because they only had a physical attraction to one another, and this physical attraction did not last. Many married couples do not get a divorce, so it will not hurt the children's feelings. When a couple gets a divorce, it is almost always because they weren't really ready for the lifetime responsibilities and commitment of marriage.

The three types of divorce are fault-based, no-fault, and summary divorce. Fault-based divorce requires one spouse to prove that the other spouse is responsible for the breakdown of the marriage, such as through adultery or abuse. No-fault divorce allows couples to end their marriage without proving fault, typically citing irreconcilable differences or irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. Summary divorce is a simplified and quicker process for couples who meet specific criteria, such as having a short marriage, limited assets, and no children.
Before you decide on divorce take time out for yourself (go on a weekend trip) and be sure this is what you want. If you are still considering divorce and if you own you have children (will have to come to a custody agreement); own your own home; vehicles or other properties you would be wise to see a divorce lawyer.
ANSWER:In my opinion and this is only in my part and the experience that I had, I will say couples who can not make it because of problems and infidelity will be better off being divorce, especially if they have children. Couples who stays married because of the children will be miserable because they don't have love to each others anymore and their children will notice it and it will affect them. But if they are divorce, the children will know that their parents can not be together not even be friends so they will accept the fact that even they love their parents, they will also know that their parents are better off separated.
Couples who are not legally married but wish to separate may face challenges in dividing assets and determining custody of children, as they may not have the same legal protections as married couples. They may need to seek legal advice to navigate the process and protect their rights.
