How does same-sex marriage conflict with what the Bible says?

I don't think there are any bible verses that address same gender marriage. All of the verses referred to in the debate appear oppose homosexuality itself, not homosexual marriage, and there are several of these. So, The Bible is clearly opposed to homosexuality and by extension homosexual marriage.

Interestingly, in addition to forbidding homosexuality, the bible in clear words forbids going to fortune tellers, getting tattoos, divorce, wearing gold jewelry and eating shellfish or pork, among several other things. But, you don't hear these brought up much and as far as I know there are no laws proposed to outlaw these practices.

The Bible only mentions that the sex "ACT" between same genders [or people and animals] is "abominable" [utterly disgusting] and so absolutely "wrong" in the eyes of man's Creator.

But the notion of MARRIAGE [to stand in public to establish such a union, imagining that God might even remotely bless it] is too grossly satanic to dignify it by mentioning it in God's Word.

The Bible doesn't mention Trinity, either, but the concept is in both the Old and New Testaments. Jesus didn't use the word homosexuality, either, but He taught to obey all the law, which includes that. The Bible teaches many lessons through concepts. Just because it doesn't use the words you want it to use doesn't mean it's not there.

You will notice that God told Adam and Eve that "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Gen 2:24 Why would he tell Adam and Eve this when neither Adam or Eve had either mother or father?

The Bible does teach against 7 sexual acts or relationships: sodomy, sexual acts at, near, or on the altar, homosexuality (Act or relationship), sex during her menstruation, incest, sex with children and bestiality.

The Bible also teaches that marriage is a sexual contract in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible also teaches the concept that sex, of any kind, is the act of marriage. So, the act of homosexuality is marriage. Not only that, but a homosexual marriage without sex, being regarded as a marriage, is, in itself, sin. 1 Cor 7.

There is no explicit reference to same-sex marriage in the Bible. The Bible depicts different kinds of marriages, from polygamous to monogamous, from dissoluble to indissoluble, but does not contain any explicit reference to same-sex romantic partnerships.

Although some Christians like to point to the relationships between David and Jonathan, Ruth and Naomi, Jesus and St. John, the Roman Centurion and his ailing slave, there is simply not enough convincing evidence to indicate that the authors of the books containing these accounts intended them to be understood as portraying anything similar to a same-sex marriage.

As for prohibition, there are passages in the Bible condemning anal sex between two males, right alongside passages imposing the death penalty for eating shellfish, committing adultery, and working on the sabbath. But people do not marry so they can have sex with each other. That is not the purpose of marriage. Neither being able to marry nor being prevented from marrying has any impact at all on whether one can have sex or not, or how much. It is a totally separate issue.

As for lesbian marriages, there is absolutely no passage anywhere in the Old or New Testaments that in any way speaks against the idea of two women having sex with each other.
