General consensus? No longer than a year. You deserve happiness and you deserve to live the life YOU want. Move on, learn from this experience and don't fall into the same dating patterns again. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If you want to find a decent man who will commit and make you happy for the rest of your life, you might need to reconsider the types of people who date, the ways in which you meet them, and your dating (and sex) patterns. I finally made a commitment to date COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONFORT ZONE for one solid year. I would only date people who I normally would not consider for one small reason or another. Guess what? I met the most incredible men who treated me like gold (and I returned the treatment). I haven't met the right person just yet, but that year taught me more about myself than any other lesson in my life. And now I date COMPLETELY different types (and don't miss the "old" profile any more). Try it. It's a little scary at first and you'll have a few hits and misses (and funny stories to share) but it's a wonderful commitment and investment to make for yourself.
