Any age really. Though beware: parents (they may not think you are ready to have one yet). It's wise not to rush into relationships (I can tell you from experience); it's better to wait awhile before you start dating (junior high school dating is garbage; wait until high school ;) ).

I believe you should be at least 16 years old. You're young and have a lot ahead of you in life. I am 65 year old and have raised 2 very good daughters who didn't start dating till they were 16. So take your time and be careful. Some boys have only one thing on their mind.

Even little kids have boyfriends and girlfriends. some people just want to wait for boyfriends and others just don't care about getting one; but there is no age for how old you need to be to get a boyfriend. A better question would be if you are ready for a boyfriend. Some people don't see going out as a huge thing, but watch out because that doesn't mean it's emotionally pain-free if you get cheated on or dumped. I'm not saying you will, but be cautious!

You can have a boyfriend at any age however you can not have sexual relations with a person until you are of legal age which is usually between the ages of about 16 and 18, depending on the laws that exist in your locality.
