I hope this wasn't too long ago. I am 28, happily married to a man I consider my best friend with two gorgeous little girls. I love my life. It wasn't always perfect and I had my share of frogs before meeting my prince. I remember my first love at the age f 15 and I also remember us thinking we were going to get married. I used to hate when older people would think that I was a 'little girl' and had no clue what I was talking about- so I refuse to repeat the same mistake. I can only speak to my experience. I disagree with what those adults used to tell me, but not 100%. I do not agree that I wasn't in love or that I did not love him or know what love is. I do however agree that I did not know the possibilities of exactly how in love you CAN be with someone. Real love, true real long term marry you and have your children love is less to do with the butterflies in the stomach and the attraction- it is so much more. It is a deep spiritual connection, it is a loving even when there is not enough money to pay a bill or being there through each others hardships. Again, not discrediting your love and relationship- I completely believe it to be true and sincere, but it's like ice cream. You could say you absolutely looooooove vanilla ice cream and vanilla ice cream is better than anything in the world, and yet you have never tried any other flavors. Now in hindsight I am able to look back at my first love and the other relationships before my husband and realize that they were just as important to my happiness and marriage as my current relationship. Thanks to those 'test' relationships I was able to learn and grow and evolve as a partner to the wife and mother I am today. So enjoy this relationship, don't make it the center of your world but do learn from it. It may last, it may not but you will be 100% okay regardless. Hope this helps.
