Absolutely, you are a minor, he is an adult, other factors are irrelevant in the eyes of the law. Your parents have custody over you until you reach the state's legal age of majority, which in most states is eighteen. They can file a complaint with authorities and petition the court for a no-contact/restraining order against the adult male. If he violates the order he will be arrested, jailed and fined, according to the laws of the state. Your parents also have the right to pursue civil action against the adult male if they so choose. Be advised that ALL states have laws pertaining to relationships between minors and adults. The state reserves the right to arbirarily enforce these laws however it sees fit, w/o the co-operation of the minor involved or the minor's parents or legal guardian. In other words, the adult male can find himself in VERY serious trouble, including criminal charges and should seek the advice of an attorney ASAP!

Yes. A person of legal age can be put in jail for statitory rape of a minor if there is sex involved. Best to not get involved with that kind of age difference. As long as you're a minor, Mom and Dad have the right to decide who you are and are not allowed to spend time with. If this man is seeing you against your parents wishes, then one of your parents options is to obtain a restraining/no contact order which will legally require him to stay away from you. However, once you turn 18, you can date anyone you want to.

yes because a 16 year old is capable of doing what a 21 year old can,the age is a difference but his mind can think older than his age,that leads to the fact that 16 is nothing but an age.Now if he acts his age than it can be a problem b/c they sometimes tends to act immature and dont take care resposibilities,and all about hanging around with friends when they can be working,so if he have a mind like a 21 year old,it should be ok

Dating means no sex, just so we have that clear, and no it's not bad if you are on the same level. Being 4 years younger then someone is a huge difference when you are 14 and 18 but not when you are 25 and 29. So at 16 and 20 it is not always appropriate. Things don't automatically falls into place because you love or have a crush on someone. Especially at your age. At 16 you usually will fall in love many more times in life.

Answer: Actually depending on where you live it may be ok. In some states for example the statute is 16 + 5 years. So a 21 would be fine dating a 16 year old. Best to check your local law concerning the legality.
