Yes! It's completely normal to be nervous before being in a communal shower for the first time. Naturally, as in most situations, the more you do it and become comfortable with the people around you, the situation will (hopefully) become less awkward. Getting undressed in front of strangers, your doctor and even those close to you is nerve-racking for anyone. Mentally, it may be because you're leaving yourself exposed, vulnerable and open to ridicule. Don't worry though, you're definitely not the only one who feels that way!
