Is it wrong to tell a lie for a good cause?

if you are going around or avoiding a subject i don't think its lying.The Bible tells us do not lie,cheat or steal.i think.if it was a good cause it shouldn't have to come with a lie.i think some questions should not be ask.some things are no ones business.it is good practice to avoid situations that would put you in that place.good cause? good for who? you must ask yourself that question first.sorry best i can do i am a christian and that's the truth

No- if it is going to save someone's life then I'd say that was a lie worth telling. Alternate Flags go up when I hear questions like this. There is WAY too much that is left unsaid. There may be layer upon layer of unwarranted assumption going on, and there is a possibility that although you are well-meaning, you may be letting too much of your own agenda in here, and it may be clouding your judgement. You could be starting out on a very unhealthy and slippery slope regarding how you are going to interact with people. It might very well be that the situation you are thinking of warrants lying, but this is not at all clear. If at all possible you need to get feedback from uninvolved people whose opinion you trust, and you need to say more about the situation.
