You're likely to get at least some violence even if all parenting were perfect. But there's little doubt (at least in my mind) that poor parenting is responsible for a lot of it. Too many kids seem to think the world revolves around them and if someone gets in their way they can't handle it. It's pathetic really.

Should schools have armed guards at school?

No. I am a teacher and a school is NOT the place for armed guards. The shootings in schools is not the problem, but a result of the violence in our society. This has a deeper root and we need to analyze the causes of the violence not just look at the surface symptoms. We have to ask ourselves how we want to live, what we are teaching our children, and why there is so much violence. Until we do this the problem can not be solved.

Authoritarian parenting, which is strict and controlling, can lead to lower self-esteem and higher levels of anxiety in children. Permissive parenting, which is lenient and indulgent, may result in children lacking self-discipline and struggling with boundaries.
