My girlfriend and I broke up because we're both shy and it just wasn't lasting we both still like each other how can we fix this?

Unfortunately (or fortunately) in matters of the heart you cannot make anything happen. All you can do is be. That may sound confusing, but it really isn't.

Think about it this way: concentrate on who you want to be, the real you. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks or says. Be you. When I encourage self-focus, I don't imply to the point of Narcissism; that's just selfdestructive, or at least counter-productive. Look at you and how you want to fit into the world. Be self-focused, self-aware, but selflessly so.

Perhaps if you do this, she will notice and like what she sees.

All you can hope for is "perhaps." But, that's still hope.
