When I was in 6th grade i was in the same situation. I would say just let him know. When no one is around just go to him and say something like, "Hey i know u hate my guts but can we be friends?" That doesn't work for everybody so if that doesn't help just find someone else. Theres plent of fish in the sea and I'm sure u will end up liking someone else that has a whole better attitude then him. Whenever u think you found that special person don't move so fast. try to be his friend for a while and just go from there.
