although there's a big question of what the difference is between a sexual relationship and an intimate relationship can never clearly be answered, there are some factors the may be helpful. A relationship based on sex is driven by lust or hormones, where a intimate relationship is based in being caring, compassionate and being thoughtful, which in most cases can lead to the feeling of love. Although, in either case sex is a part or the relationship, two most important factors are the (lust) for sexual relationship which is an impulse for sex and the (caring) which is an emotion that goes even further than just the sex. The bases of ones relationship is set fourth, on how it begins. If begins on a sexual manner, chances are it will end the same, is were cheating comes in. Many times people want to start a on a sexual bases then try to get emotions involved, but it never works, merely because you cant add emotions to impulses, there not of the same family and will clash, so some try this and get misconceptions of why relationships have'nt worked for them. The best thing for answer for that is to not let these lustful impulses make decisions for you, chances are far greater of having healthier relationship and if they don't work out is easier to accept the outcome.
