Should children be allowed to work?

No, because their parents should be working for them! Their frontal lobe (the part of their brain that does a lot of deciding and thinking) isn't fully developed yet and even so a job would be more stress and pressure on their life, think about it- isn't a childhood supposed to be filled with happy memories?

it depends on what kind of work you're referring to. are you asking about an actual job with a regular paycheck and taxes? or just stuff around the neighborhood for spending money? 15 years old for a real job with limits is okay. there is nothing wrong with a teenager who wants to drive to earn their own money to pay for their own gas and insurance. with privilege comes responsibility. i also see nothing wrong with a 12 yr. girl babysitting a couple nights a week within reason to earn some money. there's nothing wrong with a 12 yr. old boy spending time mowing peoples lawns and raking leaves for money. there also isn't anything wrong with teaching children very early how to clean their own rooms and pick up after themselves and rinse the dishes off before leaving them in the sink. both boys and girls need to learn how to keep house and wash clothes and cook and take out the trash and feed the dog or cat, but then we call them chores, (isn't that still work?) at the same time they are not to be taken advantage of because of their youth. Also, schoolwork must not suffer!!
