I believe that as a parent, if you child does not readily have an interest in ANY activity that you should pick something for them to be involved in, simply because they need the exposure to new and different things! However if your children have a strong desire to try something new and it doesn't present any moral or physical danger, then I think you can trust that you have raised your children right thus far and let them explore the things they think they might enjoy. However as a parent you can always add in something that you believe would be good for them. My parents philosophy was the I had to finish whatever I started. So if they want Baseball and you want them to play an instrument, they can do both but they HAVE to at least finish one session or season. If after the session they really do not want to do it again, that is fine, but at least you tried and saw it through. Hope this helps!
