As we move towards Him, we gain His favor. When we move away from Him, we suffer the loss of Him as a result of our rejection of Him. Since faith is a journey, we are all at different points along that journey. Some are near and some are far. The important thing is that all are moving towards God at the pace which they can attain.
No human being should block another's entrance into Heaven, especially not those who choose not to enter themselves.
