If they choose to, yes. Although they may receive negative feedback from both the faith community and the gay community, the truth is that faith is a gift from God, and not the product of human reasoning. If anyone feels called by God to worship him, then he or she should do so, and it is no one's place to tell that person he either cannot or should not.

Although same-sex married couples are sometimes judged as sinners, it is important to keep in mind that all members of a religion are sinners and all actively sin everyday, including the leaders. Remember too that the penalty for each sin is death. The role of God's people is to OBEY His law, not to enforce it or pass judgment on others. It is an ugly sight when a sinner devotes his limited time to pointing out the sins of others while allowing his own to fester.

While we are here on earth, the love of God is only a journey toward knowing and loving Him. It is a goal that none of us actually meets while still in our earthly bodies. As we move towards Him, we gain His favor. When we move away from Him, we suffer the loss of Him as a result of our rejection of Him. Since faith is a journey, we are all at different points along that journey. Some are near and some are far. The important thing is that all are moving towards God at the pace which they can attain.

No human being should block another's entrance into Heaven, especially not those who choose not to enter themselves.

Can a Roman Catholic participate in another religion without going against their own religion?

No they cannot, if by 'participate' you mean to actively and regularly engage in the religious practices and worship of another religion. On the other hand, it would be foolish not to participate in a friend's wedding or funeral or some other important ritual just because it will be held in another fellowship.
